Prof. Saurabh Chandra has done his FPM from IIM Lucknow. His doctoral thesis dealt with maritime logistics planning on the topic ‘Multi-product Inventory Maritime Routing with optional cargoes; an application to the outbound Automotive Logistics industry’. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine engineering from MERI Kolkata.
Before joining the doctoral programme at IIM Lucknow, he has worked with Mitsui OSK Lines as an Assistant Marine Engineer and as Chief Engineer with Ocean Sparkle Ltd. and COMACOE ltd.
He has presented his work in various international and national conferences like IAME, IFORS, SOM, JDA OPTSUM, etc. His research paper based on his doctoral thesis was selected amongst 20 scholars worldwide for the EURO Summer Institute on Maritime Logistics held in Bremen, Germany in June 2012.
His current research interests include maritime logistics and mathematical optimization, analyzing supply chain policies and performance of Indian retail firms through financial data, and automotive logistics in India. His teaching interests include Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Service Operations Management and Business Statistics.
